Comets repeat win over Ocosta

WESTPORT - It was almost an exact duplicate of their previous win over the Ocosta Wildcats. Three days ago, the Naselle Comets girls beat Ocosta by 29 points. In this game, three days later, the Comets beat the Wildcats by 29 points again, this time by a 51-22 margin. The Pacific League game, played in the Wildcats home gym Thursday, Jan. 25, saw the Comets improve their league record to 6-3 and 9-6 overall. The Wildcats, who have yet to win a game, dropped to 0-10 and 0-16.Naselle romped to an early lead and held the Wildcats to single digit scoring in all four quarters. The Comets led 16-5 after one, 26-10 at the half and 39-18 after three quarters. Brandi Keightley led the balanced Naselle scoring with 10 points as nine Comets scored.The Comets 6-3 league record currently has them in fourth place in the Pacific League, one game ahead of fifth place Willapa Valley, who is coming to town for Naselle's next game.
