NASELLE -- Wahkiakum clamped down defensively on Naselle during the second half of a 77-42 Mules' nonleague victory here Saturday.Led by Toby David's 18 points, and 14 apiece by Ty Briscoe and Travis Bain, the Mules stomped to a 37-30 halftime lead. Wahkiakum tightened its grip in the third quarter, holding the Comets to five points while leading scorer Kyle Burkhalter (14 points) was sidelined with foul trouble."They're a very solid and deep team," Naselle coach Brian Macy said of the Mules.The Comets (2-2) host North Beach to open Pacific 2B league play on Thursday.
