Comets survive double OT

Naselle ---- Naselle could have won its league opener against Tacoma Baptist by hitting free throws during the fourth quarter, but the Comets opted instead to sink its share from the charity stripe in double overtime to secure a 55-48 victory here Saturday.The Comets (3-2, 1-0 league) were 0-for-7 at one point during the fourth quarter, but redeemed themselves at the free throw line in double OT with Kyle Burkhalter (game-high 21 points) and Nathan Sultemeier (14 points) collecting the majority.Burkhalter also pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Naselle.The Comets shut out the Crusaders in the final stanza.
