Comet girls win at Seaside

SEASIDE, Ore. - The Naselle Comets girls' basketball team won their first game of the season, easily beating a combined Seaside team of their JV and varsity players 48-19. The game, played in Seaside on Friday, Dec. 8, allowed the Comets to improve their record to 1-2 for the young season.The Comets had two players in double figures, Kellyn Pakenen with 14 and Cheryl Steppe with a double-double of 11 points plus 14 rebounds. Four other Comets also added points to the Naselle total as they played without Brandi Keightley, out with a broken finger, and Kelsey Fletcher.The Comets have a busy schedule this week as they traveled to Cathlamet on Monday, Dec. 11, entertained North Beach Tuesday, Dec. 12, and are at Tacoma Baptist this coming Saturday, Dec. 16.

The Comets JVs won their game 38-30 over the young Gulls. Emily Green was Naselle's high scorer with 14 points.
